A part-time farmer had a vision to create a basic source of reference for farm producers. He knew a growing number of farmers were gaining access to the Internet, and he saw an opportunity to provide them with quick, free access to information essential to their business. Unbiased, one-stop shopping for the agriculture community.
These features were critical to the success of FarmPage.com:

The Success Story:
Partnering with FarmPage.com from the beginning, AD/S provided this start-up with business management and IT consulting services. We worked closely with company owners and investors to determine the site’s mission and content, and we helped chart out a plan to phase in new features and functionality. Prior to the launch, AD/S participated in several seminars and trade shows to promote and demo the site.
Our technical expertise with Internet technology enabled AD/S to provide the full range of skills required for developing and supporting the site. From choosing the ISP and technology behind the scenes through implementation and on-going support, we were there every step of the way.
In the truest sense, FarmPage.com is a portal that allows users complete control over their information experience. AD/S consultants designed an interface to a 3rd party data feed to give users the most current news, weather and agriculture-related reports available. Users can customize a commodity watch list for types of grains and livestock, as well as track a portfolio for specific commodities.
AD/S built a robust content management tool that keeps the site up-to-date and dynamic. This utility permits authorized users, including industry experts, to remotely contribute audio and visual content for newsletters and articles. We even developed a process for creating targeted mass emails through an online form and a tool to manage advertising banners. A backend MySQL database stores all user and site information and provides the foundation for the content management tool. In effect, FarmPage.com personnel can manage their site without the assistance of a technical staff. This helps keep IT costs at a minimum.
Through a secured credit card authorization process, FarmPage.com users can purchase premier memberships, service and merchandise.
Touted by many in the agriculture industry as “the best AG resource”, FarmPage.com continues to thrive in a market where many of its competitors have failed.
